 F16 Lock Story
Mr. David Chiu, The founder, in the early 60s started a joint venture with a friend to produce various kinds of motorcycle safety locks like as U shape locks. By 1967, he was already producing locks and hardware with his own company " F16 MFG CO., LTD." The business expanded from motorcycle locks to much wider production lines; cam locks,semi-round keyway, semi-round grooved keyway, including various special custom-made locks. By 1992 after experimenting during few years with different designs and materials; keeping in mind that thieves forcedly opened locks worldwide using different universal key sets and wrecked open locks with drilling tools; Mr. David began to innovate an Anti-Drilling Lock Cylinder. In 1999, F16 started to commercialize David's Anti-Drilling 12 Pins Cylinder protecting it with a universal patent. After successfully worldwide selling of the Anti-Drilling 12 Pins Cylinder, and numerous customers' demands, David and F16 produced and universally patented in 1999 a special Anti-Destruction Wreck-ResistantDoor Lock to house the Anti-Drilling 12 Pins Cylinder.
Why called F16? "F16" named and regarded as a composition of gratitude and perception. The "F" glorifies David's homeland "Formosa" now days known as Taiwan, and to show appreciation for his very first client, who was from Finland, the "16" represents David's when he started to work on the lock and hardware industry years old. |
